The difference between summer tyres and winter tyres
If you live in a climate where winters tend to be rather snowy, you probably have to use winter tyres in the cold months. They greatly decrease the number of dangerous accidents and they make it much easier to drive a car in difficult conditions. But in what way are they different from summer tyres? Well, their grooves are much wider so that they can remove snow from under the wheel. They can also go with spikes so that moving on icy surface becomes easier. However, heavy duty tyres are only popular in areas where winters tend to be really hard and really cold, and where most roads are covered in ice. However, both the spikes and the wide grooves are not the best choice for rainy weather. This is why you should not use winter tyres in other seasons. As you can see, it is extremely important to know the difference between the two types. The awareness greatly increases safety on the roads. However, you have probably heard about the third type: the all-season tyre. It can be used in all conditions, but unfortunately, it is not really optimised for any of them. So if you are going to use all-season tyres during winter, bear in mind that they may not hold the surface perfect and that it is better not to develop higher speed.
